this is an idea of what I will post each month – quick observation, books & events to check out, plus any news from me 😁

I love this, such a nice switch – who do I love being…at work, at home etc; aiming to be our best (& I often do that) can feel pressured, always striving for better, and there are times for that. It’s also important to remember that when we relax and are our ‘favourite’ self then we actually perform better – when I am just playing and being creative I achieve more than when I try and force myself. Even when I am doing the stuff I don’t enjoy – who do I want to be? Grumpy and resentful?
Who is your favourite self at work? Is it relaxed and enthusiastic? Maybe present and focused?
And what will help you be more of that? (& this is not about faking it, pretending to be OK – it’s learning what you need to look after yourself)
Books
OK – so much pressure for my first picks 😊 2 books I have devoured recently are:
- Beyond Anxiety: curiosity, creativity and finding your life’s purpose by Martha Beck, I love her work anyway, easy to read, fascinating and relatable – this is especially relevant right now, and lots of helpful ways to move out of anxiety and free ourselves up.
- What it takes to heal: how transforming ourselves can change the world by Prentis Hemphill. Wow what a book, one of those that makes you feel good reading it, and also inspired to keep going. You can also watch her at a Healing Justice London event here What It Takes To Heal – Healing Justice Ldn
Other stuff:
This will list any great talks, podcasts or courses I have come across, and also any new things I am doing 😁
