Stress
So many people
seem to be suffering from stress that I decide to put all the
relevant resources in one place.
Average stress
levels are rising and that affects quality of life on every
level, both as individuals and as a whole. For most people it's
not that bad, until it is and then it is difficult to
recover from. We put up with minor affects until they accumulate
and cause real problems. And yet we are designed to be
able to achieve so much more with so little stress if we operate
efficiently and look after ourselves. We learn how to
get the best out of gadgets we buy, so why not ourselves???
The hardest part is that once we are stressed it can be so
difficult to get ourselves out of (but not impossible, and
easier with help).
'Prevention is better than cure' is so apt for stress, and
prevention makes you feel good and achieve more too, and has a
knock on effect throughout society. It's a win-win. And anyone can
learn the skills needed to live a stress free life. It is not
about finding more time to relax and saying no, it's about
changing what it is in you that generates the stress in the
first place and learning how to manage your own energy levels so
you can do more. Stress is not about what happens outside of you
but how you respond to it. Sure, some situations need you to
work harder to stay calm, but it's still within your control -
once you learn how.
I used to be so
stressed I thought I had been possessed as I became a different
person, so I know how horrible it is. I also know that there
seems to be a collective denial about whether it is normal or
inevitable, and that masking it with drugs and other addictions
is the answer. Don't put up with stress just because
others do. As I said - prevention is always better than
cure. And so much nicer too! We deserve to feel good.
OK, so here are
