NLP is about how the brain works, how we work, and
how we can use that knowledge to re-programme ourselves
to how we are meant to be. We are born, in essence,
without any programming and are then at the whim of the
people and experiences we encounter growing up. Unless
you know how to choose for yourself how you want to be
then you will be influenced by others who do know. This
may sound quite clinical but our mind and bodies work in
patterns, or programs - if not we would have to think
about everything we do, instead of doing some things
unconsciously.
NLP Psychotherapy - after training as an NLP Master Practitioner I then spent another 2 years training as a psychotherapist so that I could use those skills to help people in emotional pain in the best, and most ethical way possible. This form of therapy is usually short term and helps you know how to heal and move on (at your own pace): rather than being someone who sits and listens I will use my training and experience to guide you and teach you how to use your brain to heal and change.
Life Coaching is much more focused on the future - deciding goals, removing what stops you moving forward, and keeping you focused. It is like any other coach - someone who encourages and helps you to achieve your best.
